Teaching & Academic Administration

I have worked in university Theatre and English departments, teaching basic & advanced acting, Shakespeare studies, theatre education & theatre history; English composition and literature, and as part of Columbia University’s Core Curriculum Faculty,  Literature Humanities, Introductory and Advanced Logic & Rhetoric, and Barnard College’s First Year Seminars. In addition,  I have created a wide range of academic programs:  new acting classes for the University of Rochester’s International Theatre Program; a PreHealth Shadowing program at Duke University Medical Center for more than 500 undergraduates, as well as a Mock Interview & Academic Advising program for Duke’s Pre-Health Professions Advising Office; Shakespeare-in-the-Schools enrichment programs for grades 3-12, funded by UCSB,  for Santa Barbara County public schools. Spiritual Care

Along with four units of C.P.E., which I completed at the University of Rochester and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Centers, I have an M.A. in Religion and a Masters of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and have been ordained by the United Church of Christ. I am committed to an ecumenical practice of spiritual care and to integrating within it my professional experience in literature and the performing arts.

Acting & Directing

After completing my B.A.at Yale University and an M.A. at the University of Chicago, I studied in the M.F.A. program at the Goodman/DePaul School of Drama and completed my Certificate of Fine Arts in Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In addition to my work on stage, I did commercial and contract work on television. In addition to working as an education artist and Fall Festival Director at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox MA, I completed the Winter Intensive program and assisted Education Director Kevin Coleman in continuing education workshops for public school teachers.
